The Gaskell Brumby is inspired by the popular "Kelly" Explorer style guitar, which was designed by Australian guitarist Brad Kelly (hence the name) in the 1980's. It has been one of the hallmark guitars of Heavy Metal players all over the world ever since. However, original Kelly's have never been available as production left handed guitars. Redesigned in Australia, the Gaskell Brumby is a bit more compact in size than it's inspiration and comes with high output open-coil humbucking pickups, a licensed Floyd Rose tremolo, and volume control only. As with the majority of Gaskell instruments, the Brumby has the Gaskell "duck bill" headstock instead of the pointy Jackson one. Because it has a Floyd Rose style tremolo the body is made of basswood which is the the wood choice every guitar manufacturer uses for Floyd equipped guitars. If a boring, run-of-the-mill Les Paul or Strat doesn't do it for you, and you want a serious guitar for shredding or heavy playing, then here is a tougher, leaner and meaner, more extreme-oriented Explorer style guitar, designed and built just for that. |
