Gaskell Guitars is an Australian guitar manufacturer that makes production and custom left handed electric guitars and basses that are not available, or no longer made in left hand by other manufacturers.
Left handed guitarists the world over have always had few options regarding availability of left handed guitars. This has always been the case, but in recent times several major guitar manufacturers have completely turned their backs on leftes and have stopped making left hand guitars altogether. When you do find a left hand guitar in a shop somewhere it is normally priced 10-20 percent higher than a right hand one! What is that really? A "penalty fee" for being a left handed guitarist? Not acceptable!
Gaskell Guitars was started in Australia by New Zealand-born left handed guitarist Kevin Gaskell, initially out of frustration over the BS and lack of availability of popular electric guitars in left hand! Kevin made the first "Gaskell" guitar in 1992, but it was not until 2006 that Gaskell Guitars officially went into full production starting with a few models that were always unavailable as left handed versions.
Since then, in such a short time, Gaskell Guitars has grown and expanded very quickly, as news spreads to lefty guitarists all around the world that there is a guitar brand that makes left handed guitars only. More guitars get added as they pass through the re-design stage by Kevin himself and go off to the factory to be turned from design into reality.
There is no other guitar manufacturer in the world that specializes in left handed guitars only.
There are music shops in Australia that carry Gaskell guitars and we have a direct distributor in San Diego USA to service all of America. Due to the ongoing chaos with world currencies and high European taxes, European customers benefit from buying through Australian retailers rather than through a store in Europe. European local taxes and charges are higher than the cost of door-to-door shipping from Australia to Europe!
No matter where you are in the world, you can get a Gaskell guitar. For you maybe it will be the guitar of your dreams - because you could never get one before! Well, some dreams still come true!
